A hosted, remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server enabling AI assistants to securely read projects, quality data, and references from anywhere, including mobile.
How to Connect
Configure your AI client to use this remote server. The connection uses your existing QCDatabase.AI account via secure OAuth.
Open your AI Client
In the Claude desktop or mobile app, navigate to Customize > Connectors.
Add Custom Connector
Select “Add custom connector” and paste the server URL provided here.
Authenticate
On your first request, follow the prompt to sign in and authorize the connection for your specific organization.

Your credentials are never stored on this server. Standard OAuth tokens remain strictly on your local device.
Enterprise-grade isolation
The MCP server acts as a secure, near-stateless proxy between your AI assistant and the QCDatabase API. Every session is strictly isolated to the authenticated user.
Bring Your Own Account
Any QCDatabase user can connect using their existing credentials. The AI's session inherits your precise role, permissions, and organization access.
Standard OAuth
Authentication is handled directly by QCDatabase.AI. This intermediate server never sees, intercepts, or stores your passwords.
Minimal-State Architecture
No credentials are stored and no quality data is retained. The server remembers only your active project selection for the workday, and file transfers are staged briefly (under an hour) before automatic cleanup.
Capabilities
Once connected, your AI assistant works the project end to end: reading, creating, and updating records across the whole quality workflow, from desktop or mobile. More than 80 tools span the areas below, plus notes and photos on supported records.
Projects & Access
List your organizations and projects, set the active project for the session, and see current team members.
Jobs & Test Packages
Browse and create the jobs, test packages, and line specifications that define your project's scope.
Drawings
Upload and version isometrics and large-format P&IDs, read AI-extracted sheet data, and export rendered PDFs.
Map Items
Place welds, flanges, and fittings on drawings (one at a time or in bulk up to 500), then mark complete, accept, or log repairs.
Documents & Records
Upload, version, and download MTRs, NDE reports, and certificates, and read their AI-extracted fields.
Inspection Forms & Templates
Start, fill, and complete custom inspection forms, or download fillable PDF templates with project autofill and submit them back.
ITP Line Items
Read, create, and update Inspection & Test Plan steps with acceptance criteria, then mark them complete or accepted.
Quality Holds
Place, assign, and clear witness and hold points (fit-up, tack-up, cleanliness) on map items and ITP steps.
References & Turnover
Track what still needs proof, link source items to their evidence, and pull a live turnover-readiness report.
Reference Lists
Read and maintain the controlled vocabularies (welders, weld types, materials, pipe sizes) that other records reference.
Receiving & Materials
Browse incoming shipments and received line items, with quantities and heat numbers for material traceability.
Semantic Search & Guidance
Search the entire project in natural language, and get how-to answers from the QC Database user manual.
Known Limitation: Turnover Package Compiler
All turnover data is fully accessible remotely, but compiling a complete turnover package (with generated table of contents, all references, and all attachments bundled together) is web only. Custom turnover tooling can still be built as skills on top of this MCP server.
